Learn to play your favorite song
…or how to write it yourself!

Boutique music lessons and songwriting in a professional, home-based studio in Uptown Chicago. Safe, supportive, and results-driven.

Hi! I’m Aaron Landsman, owner and  instructor at JAZZFUZZ School of Music.

I’ve been a musician for over 30 years, with a primary focus on guitar as well as playing piano, bass, and drums.  I’ve produced hundreds of tracks for myself and other artists out of the JAZZFUZZ studio as well as showrunning a dozen different podcasts, with over 300 hundred total episodes recorded in the same studio. This experience gives me a unique ability to transform traditional music lessons “beyond the chord”: into lessons about how to actually create modern music: timing, tone, layering, arrangement, and recording, using the same equipment and software as industry professionals.

A man wearing a floral hoodie, glasses, and a baseball cap is playing a guitar in a music studio with purple lighting, acoustic foam panels, artwork on the walls, and audio equipment.

The approach at JAZZFUZZ is designed to both teach music and make musicians for life.  Fundamentals matter, and we always start with the basics: scales, chords, rhythm, and notation. Now the fun starts: students apply and practice these principles in the context of the songs they love. Here is where the JAZZFUZZ magic is added to the foundation they’ve built…we hit RECORD! Students now get to rock out in a full studio with professional gear while recording their music, becoming their own producers, and leaving with a song or music video to keep forever and hear every day.
